East Renfrewshire residents are set to benefit from £250,000 of transport improvements over the next three years thanks to investment from Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT).
The funding comes from SPT’s Capital Programme 2026/27 to 2028/29. It has been allocated to local authorities and other delivery partners of SPT to support the delivery of its Regional Transport Strategy, which aims to improve accessibility, affordability, availability and connectivity of transport across Strathclyde, as well as reducing carbon emissions and promoting active travel.
A total of £250,000 has been allocated to active travel connections to schools in the area.
Love to Ride – Cycling & Walking Challenge has been awarded £20,00.
Other projects that will benefit from the funding include:
- Staff travel plans / commuter emissions calculations - £10,000
- Journey share (Liftshare) license - £2,500
- Primary to secondary school transition training - £10,000
- Mobility hubs: feasibility - £10,000
