Oor Wullie has arrived in St Enoch Subway Station for his summer stay as part of the Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail, Scotland’s first ever nationwide public art trail.

We’re delighted to have Our Wullie with us for the next 11 weeks from now up until 17 August so everyone will have lots of opportunity to come by and visit him in the station.

SPT chair councillor Dr Martin Bartos said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Oor Wullie to the Subway as long as he behaves himself and doesn’t get up to too much mischief over the Summer!

“We hope many visitors take the time to come and see him and all the other Oor Wullie’s on the BIG Bucket Trail and raise funds for Scotland’s children hospital charities.”

Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail will see over 200 uniquely designed Oor Wullie sculptures take to the streets in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness.

Chief Operating Officer at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity Kirsten Sinclair said:

“We’re absolutely thrilled that SPT is involved with Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail. It promises to be a spectacular summer attraction for the whole country, and we hope as many people as possible will get involved with the trail.

“Thanks to SPT’s generous support, we can ensure that the young patients at Scotland’s busiest children’s hospital receive the extra special care they deserve.”

The Oor Wullie sculpture at St Enoch Subway Station is called ‘Charles Rennie’, in recognition of his distinctive look by artist Sue Guthrie.

Glasgow Subway has also partnered with The Willow Tea Rooms on a very special offer.  For or anyone who ‘collects’ Charles Rennie at St Enoch, you will unlock a reward to receive 10% off your food bill at the tea rooms.
