Shields Road Park & Ride car park has recently received various upgrades to enhance the user experience and encourage public transport use across the city.

Shields Road is the largest Park & Ride facility ran by SPT, offering over 800 car parking spaces within a multi story and open air car park. The convenient location, just minutes off the motorway ensures users can skip traffic and travel into the city centre on Subway in less than 5 minutes. 

Recent upgrades include freshly painted directional arrows, line markings and stairwells as well as new signage offering clear instructions for all users. Along with a winter gritting system in place to ensure the car park remains safe and accessible during icy conditions, and new planters being installed to enhance the overall environment for users.

The Multi Story car park also now offers users 24 hour access with a valid parking ticket, offering flexibility and convenience around time of exiting the car park. Users will be able to gain access to the indoor multi story on foot with their ticket, offering a safer experience when leaving outside of usual Subway opening hours. 

Park & Ride tickets are available for £7.90, which includes all day parking and a return Subway ticket. Users can also take advantage of parking only options across the three Park & Ride sites which includes Kelvinbridge and Bridge Street.
