ZoneCard, Strathclyde’s longest serving integrated ticket which joins up travel for bus, rail, and Subway, has recently reviewed its prices following the withdrawal of ScotRail peak fares by Scottish Ministers.
ZoneCard prices are calculated based on the cost of individual bus, rail and Subway tickets. As a result of ScotRail peak fares being withdrawn in September 2025, most ZoneCard prices are also reducing.
Chair of the ZoneCard Forum, Kenny McAlpine from ScotRail, said:
“We’re pleased to confirm that most ZoneCard prices will reduce from the end of September meaning ZoneCard will offer even better value for money. Customers will benefit from the convenience and flexibility of unlimited bus, rail and Subway travel at a new lower cost.”
The new updated ZoneCard prices will see the majority of tickets (89 out of 105 ticket options) now available at a reduced cost. The cost of the most popular “Zone 2” tickets will reduce by 16%, with a weekly ticket for unlimited travel across Zone 2 now just £41.
The new ZoneCard prices will start from 28 September 2025. You can purchase ZoneCard tickets online at www.zonecard.co.uk or in person at Payzone outlets throughout the SPT area.
Zonecard is administered by SPT on behalf of all the Zonecard participating operators.
