SPT has made a number of arrangements to make your journey to the race as stress-free as possible.
Travel by Subway
On Sunday 18 May, the Subway system will be open from 8.00am.
Runners will receive a voucher in their packs which can be exchanged for up to four free return journey Subway tickets. Vouchers can be exchanged at any Subway station booking office.
Take the Subway to Shields Road or Buchanan Street stations and use the free shuttle bus to the race start line.
Stewards and regulators will be on hand at Shields Road station to assist you.
Please note, the Subway is likely to be very busy between midday and 2.00pm.
Free car parking for runners
Runners will receive a voucher in their packs entitling the holder to one free car parking space at the multi-storey car park at Shields Road Subway station (800 spaces), the car park at Kelvinbridge Subway station (150 spaces) or the car park at Bridge Street Subway station (159 spaces).
Car parks will open at 8.00am.
Parking spaces will be available on a first-come first-served basis until all spaces are full.
Please note, normal fares and parking charges will apply for other customers.
Free shuttle buses
Before the race:
A special free shuttle bus service will run from
- Shields Road Subway station, and
- Cochrane Street, off George Square, in Glasgow city centre (view map, opens a new window).
The bus service will start at 7.30am and will drop all runners, family and friends at Dumbreck Road, south of Nithsdale Road. Buses depart every 10 minutes, and the last departures from both points will be at 9.30am.
The shuttle bus service will utilise low floor vehicles. No vouchers are required to use this free bus service.
After the race:
For your return journey, the free shuttle bus service will resume at 11.00am from Dumbreck Road, south of Nithsdale Road, to
- Cochrane Street (view map, opens a new window), and
- Shields Road Subway station.
The last bus will depart at 1.00pm.
