SPT Travel Planning
How can SPT help you?
Travel Plan officers
SPT's Travel Plan officers can support you in a number of ways to develop your own Travel Plan. Here are some examples of things we can do for you:
- Design a staff travel survey.
- Provide a template management report to propose the benefits of Travel Planning.
- Facilitate a Travel Plan steering group (although this should be chaired by a member of senior management).
- Design and carry out site audits.
- Facilitate Travel Plan focus groups and workshops for interested staff - these can be a useful way of ascertaining which measures will prove successful.
- Make a joint application to the Energy Saving Trust for free-of-charge Travel Planning consultancy.
- Implementation of measures - the Sustainable Travel Grant Scheme may be accessed to seek match funding for capital and revenue schemes such as bicycle parking facilities, leaflets and posters, pedestrian/cycling route signage.
- Provide a framework Travel Plan containing:
- suggested background information, for example climate change, health statistics;
- benefits of the Travel Plan for the employer, employees, patients and visitors;
- possible objectives, targets and measures;
- monitoring and review programme.
There are currently three SPT Travel Plan Officers in post, offering support throughout the SPT area. You can view their contact details here.
