SPT announces appointment of Director of Communications
As part of the current organisational review initiated by Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) Chief Executive Ron Culley, the communications function is to be strengthened with the creation of a new post - Director of Communications.
SPT can now confirm that Bob Wylie has been selected to fill this vacancy and will lead the communications team covering major disciplines of public affairs, press and media relations, marketing and internal communications.
SPT Chair Councillor Alistair Watson welcomed the appointment saying: "SPT has committed to becoming an organisation that majors on delivering public transport improvements for the people of west central Scotland.
"To do this effectively, we need to communicate effectively with them and by appointing Bob Wylie as our Director of Communications, we have someone who is a big hitter in this field. He is a well known broadcast journalist, working at a senior level with BBC Scotland and is also an author of some note."
