SPT introduces new ZoneCard outlets
Strathclyde Partnership for Transport’s popular ZoneCard is now more readily available to customers in East Dunbartonshire, thanks to the introduction of two new selling outlets in Twechar and Kirkintilloch.
ZoneCard - which offers unlimited travel throughout Strathclyde on rail, Subway, most buses and some ferries - can now be renewed at Twechar Sub Post Office in MacDonald Crescent, Twechar and Rosebank Sub Post Office in Lammermoor Road, Kirkintilloch.
Customers wishing to purchase their ZoneCard for the first time should do so at any SPT travel centre or any staffed First ScotRail station.
Councillor for East Harestanes and Twechar, Alan Moir said, "I am delighted that we have been able to introduce the availability of ZoneCards locally. SPT now operates the majority of services in and out of Twechar and it is therefore important that value for money ticketing is made available. I must thank the Post Office in Twechar for their assistance in providing this very important service."
ZoneCard splits the whole of the Strathclyde conurbation into various zones and customers can simply select the number of zones they will need to travel through, which reflects the price they will pay. The minimum number of zones available to buy is two and the ZoneCard can be used for unlimited travel with participating operators wherever the yellow and orange ZoneCard pennant is displayed.
Further information about ZoneCard can be found on the SPT website at www.spt.co.uk or by visiting your nearest SPT travel centre.
