Miss Scotland's funderground magic
Miss Scotland, Nieve Jennings, sprinkled fairy magic on the Subway as the network launched its festival of fun.
The Glasgow Subway Festival is being brought to you by SPT, leading marketing agency DADA and The Scottish Sun newspaper and runs from Thursday, 10 April, to Sunday, 13 April.
Nieve teamed up with SPT mascot Boo, Clyde 1 DJ Romeo and Glasgow girl band Atlanta to delight Subway passengers and features in a special festival opening day edition of the newspaper.
Passengers who purchase a copy of The Scottish Sun for 25 pence on Thursday are being given a free single journey ticket on the network as part of a unique festival promotion.
The extravaganza is a celebration of the Subway and the part it plays in Joining up Journeys in the city. The festival also promotes Glasgow as a place to live and visit.
It promises a host of exciting events, fun and entertainment, with the public urged to enjoy everything that the UK’s first ever underground festival has in store.
The festival is free and, alongside events at themed Subway stations this weekend, entertainment will be on offer across the network and 'overground' at venues in the city.
Your Subway ticket provides the passport to special offers at a wide range of venues.
Full details of what is on offer are available on this leaflet (pdf format, opens a new window).
The fun has been organised with all age groups in mind - from kids to grannies and students to professionals - and with such an incredible line-up of activities on offer it really will provide something for everyone.
You can also do your bit for charity during the four-day event.
Subway Festival staff will be selling 'Glasgow Subway Festival' badges for £1.00, with all profits going to the Yorkhill Children's Foundation.
By wearing their badges during the festival, Subway travellers are in with a chance of winning some fantastic 'on the spot' prizes, ranging from free Subway tickets to meals at some of Glasgow's top restaurants.
Badges are available from Subway staff at ticket kiosks.
