Cuddly mascot's big festival 'de-Boo!'

Boo with SPT Chair Alistair Watson and competition winnersMeet Boo, SPT's cuddly new mascot, who is due to make a big entrance at this week's Subway Festival.

The event, which runs from Thursday to Sunday, promises to be a treat for all and Boo will be on hand to delight the crowds.

Boo has a huge goodie-bag of gifts to give away during the festival and will be making special appearances at stations across the network.

Our friendly mascot has already made one appearance prior to the festival - delighting our playscheme winners ahead of their trip to Loudoun Castle theme park this week.

SPT Marketing Manager Amanda Anderson said Boo adds an extra element of fun to what already promises to be a memorable festival.

She said: "Boo will make a big debut this week but expect to see our new mascot at all sorts of events in the future.

"We've been working on a special diary for Boo and our mascot even has a special wardrobe.

"Expect to see Boo sporting an SPT tracksuit at the Women's 10k on 18 May and we've fashioned a special T-shirt for Boo for the summer months."

SPT and festival partners DADA have been working hard to deliver a festival programme that celebrates the Subway and the best of the city of Glasgow, with entertainers, events and special offers across the four days.

Full details of what is on offer are available on this leaflet (pdf format, opens a new window).

David Wallace, Director of Subway Operations, said: “This is a fantastic new opportunity for the Subway and we believe it is a world first.

"The Subway Festival allows us to engage with the community and demonstrate that as well as being the most effective way to travel around Glasgow it can be fun as well.

"The prizes on offer and attractions are sure to generate a lot of interest and we welcome our existing and new customers to a unique experience.

"Congestion is at an all-time high and we believe the Subway is the transport mode of choice for getting around Glasgow.”
