Screens investment on Subway
SPT has announced plans to spend almost £500,000 on further Subway improvements.
Passenger screens are to be installed on the Inner Circle island platforms at Ibrox and Hillhead Subway stations.
The screens are an additional measure aimed at minimising risk to passengers when the platform is busy.
At their meeting on 15 February, SPT members agreed to award a contract worth £483,960 to civil engineering contractor George Leslie Ltd.
The company installed a similar screen at Buchanan Street station in 2005.
The work is expected to be complete by the end of the year.
SPT’s Director of Subway Operations, David Wallace, said: "At times these stations can be very busy, particularly on match days at Ibrox.
"The passenger screens will complement the existing measures we have in place for congestion management."
