Service change tonic for NHS staff

SPT has acted to serve the needs of staff working at an NHS laundry who faced the prospect of losing their bus service.

Workers at the NHS West of Scotland Laundry in Netherton were set to lose the service when a local contract ends on 19 January.

However, SPT members have agreed to extend an existing bus service in the area to serve the staff.

From 21 January, Service 366 - Harthill to Wishaw - will start five minutes earlier at 0555 on weekdays and will now terminate at the laundry. Previously the service terminated at Wishaw General Hospital.

To accommodate this change, the first Monday to Friday journey from Wishaw General Hospital to Harthill will also depart five minutes earlier at 0510.

SPT’s Director of Bus Operations, Eric Stewart said: "This may not seem like a significant change to most people but it will make a big difference to the staff involved and we are more than happy to help."
