SPT announces the qualification of its first City & Guilds approved assessor.
Norrie achieves a first for SPT
December 15, 2009 12:12 UKNewsSPT is delighted to announce the qualification of its first City & Guilds approved assessor.
Norrie Osborne, a Subway Permanent Way Supervisor, was formally presented with his A1 Assessor Award by SPT Chief Executive Ron Culley last Friday.
SPT became an official City & Guilds approved centre for training last year, meaning it can provide in-house assessments for work related SVQ and NVQ qualifications without the need to employ external companies or colleges.
Since then six members of staff have been studying to become Assessors for these certificates, with Norrie the first to qualify.
Andrew Calder, Subway Training Officer and Centre Quality Assurance Co-ordinator under the City & Guilds agreement, said: "Norrie put in a lot of hard work to achieve his award, and was an excellent candidate to become our first assessor. He will now be able to take other members of staff through their training."
