Public transport information
SPT Travel Points
Introduction
We are currently working with a number of partner organisations to extend our network of public transport information centres.
These centres – known as Travel Points – stock a range of timetables and public transport information leaflets relating to the local area concerned.
At present there are eight Travel Points (see below), and we are working to further develop this concept throughout the Strathclyde area.

Through partnership working with North Lanarkshire Council, public transport timetables are now available through the network of North Lanarkshire First Stop Shops. This will allow customers to access local bus timetables locally.

Ticket outlets in North Lanarkshire
We have extended the number of local shops where customers can renew their ZoneCard. This is in addition to staffed local rail stations.
Over the coming weeks, customers will also be able to submit their forms for Over 60 Concessionary Travel at the First Stop Shops. The proposals are to initially have this facility at Cumbernauld and then extend it to all other First Stop Shops.
First tickets can be purchased from RS McColl in Cumbernauld Shopping Centre, as well as the SPT Travel Centre at Buchanan Bus Station.
Bus departure information screens in Cumbernauld
Electronic information displays have been installed at the bus waiting areas at Central Way in Cumbernauld. These displays are similar to those already in place at Buchanan and East Kilbride bus stations and display the next 10 local service departures. This allows customers access to information 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is in addition to the bus stop information displayed in this area at the end of 2007.
