SPT ferry
Renfrew-Yoker ferry
Introduction

For over 500 years, a ferry has operated between Renfrew and Yoker. Not only is it one of Scotland's oldest passenger ferries, it's also one of the most popular, carrying nearly 150,000 passengers across the Clyde each year.
The Renfrew-Yoker ferry is wholly owned and operated by SPT.
The Renfrew Rose and the Yoker Swan travel the 200 metres between graded slipways at Renfrew on the south bank and Yoker on the north. Crew members can see passengers waiting on the other side so they can cross on demand.
The Renfrew ferry point is a traditional bus terminus while the Yoker point is a short walk from Glasgow's Dumbarton Road with its regular bus services.
The ferry operates every day except 25 and 26 December and 1 and 2 January.

The "Describe Online" Guide to the ferry
In April 2007, Describe Online produced a text-only description detailing:
- how to reach the Ferry from Yoker railway station and nearby buses;
- the layout of the landing areas at Yoker and Renfrew;
- the ferry vessels;
- how to reach nearby buses and Yoker station from the Ferry.
Although primarily intended as an aid for blind or vision-impaired people, this information is of potential benefit to all travellers.
View the guide on the Describe Online website (opens a new browser window).
