SPT promoted at student fair in Glasgow

SPT were on hand to discuss public transport with students at last week’s Scotcampus Freshers Festival.

Hosted annually at George Square, the student fair was attended by 13,000 students from all four Glasgow Universities and numerous colleges.

Staff from Communications and the Bus Operations departments at the event on Thursday and Friday provided information on ZoneCard, the new Traveline mobile phone app and other modes of public transport available around the city.

Students also learned about the easiest and quickest way to get around Glasgow, which is of course the Subway, and they were made aware of our popular twitter feed @GlasgowSubway.

Clare Strain, SPT’s Travel Planner, was also on hand to promote walking and cycling as a green means of travel and to promote the car-sharing scheme, JourneyShare.

Those students happy to fill out our Zonecard survey were rewarded with goody bags containing travel info leaflets and badges.
