Range of Services


The Community Transport Sector is extremley diverse. Individual CT Operators will provide a range of services in response to local need. These include:

Minibus Services – Group transport to voluntary groups

Community Bus – Regular timetabled bus services under Section 22 Permits

Demand Responsive Transport Services – Door to door transport to meet the needs of individuals. e.g. Hospital Visiting, Shopping

Community Car Schemes – Door to door transport for individuals through volunteer drivers using their own vehicles. e.g. Health Appointments

Vehicle Brokerage & Management – A CT management of vehicles owned by local community groups can produce cost savings for the group concerned and remove worries about safety servicing and maintenance

Training – MiDAS (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) for drivers and PATS (Passenger Assistance Training Scheme) for passenger assistants

Shopmobility & Wheelchair Loan – Allow individuals to go shopping

Wheels to Work Schemes – Assist individuals with transport to access employment
