Ring'n'Ride
What is Service 800 Lanark Ring'n'Ride?
Ring'n'Ride is an innovative on-demand bus service that picks you up from as near to your door as possible and takes you where you want to go, when you want to go.
It is designed to serve people and communities in rural Lanark who do not currently have a local bus service or have poor public transport links to amenities.
The service provides new direct links between any points in the rural area shown on the map (download timetable to see map), and also from this rural area to the highlighted town centres and train stations.
On Wednesdays and Saturdays it provides a service to Wishaw and Wishaw General Hospital.
It does not make trips where there are alternative public transport services.
The bus operates Mondays to Saturdays between the hours of 0700 and 1800, and Sundays between 0900 and 1800 hours.
Who can use it?
Ring'n'Ride is for everyone who wants to travel within the marked area on the map (download timetable to see map).
Passengers who are registered Dial-a-Bus users can also use the Ring'n'Ride Service to travel locally within and between Lanark and Carluke.
Like conventional bus services, Ring'n'Ride is for individual passengers, but group bookings are also warmly welcomed.
All members of the community are able to use the service, as it is operated using a low-floor, wheelchair-accessible bus.
Passengers also have the opportunity to make bookings in advance of the normal booking period. Please contact us for details.
Journey times
Every effort will be made to offer you your requested times.
Often however, if a number of passengers are going to the same destination we will offer you these times.
We may require to change your booking times but will advise you if these changes exceed 10 minutes.
Other passengers are often picked up en route to your destination. Please allow time for this when booking your journey.
Please try to be flexible with your journey times.
