Free Subway travel for gymnastics spectators
September 25, 2008Free Subway travel is available to all spectators purchasing tickets in advance for the 5th Acrobatic Gymnastics World Age Group Championships (October 3-5) and the 21st Acrobatic Gymnastics World Championships (October 10-12).
A voucher for a return Subway ticket will be issued with each advance booking for the events at Kelvin Hall.
It offers free travel for each person on each day they attend the event and has been provided in conjunction with Culture and Sport Glasgow.
Alistair Watson, Chair of SPT, said: "Our aim is to encourage more people to use public transport. By offering free Subway travel to the event we hope to make it an affordable and great day out for everyone."
With 500 athletes from 31 countries taking part, the championships promise an electric atmosphere and non-stop, spectacular aerial acrobatic action for all the family. Gymnasts from as far afield as Australia, the US and the Ukraine will compete for 18 world titles.
To demonstrate the type of feats that will be on display, a team of young acrobatic gymnasts from Glasgow School of Sport attended a photo shoot at Buchanan Street Subway station on Wednesday.
