Scotland’s largest ice rink is back and just five minutes from the Subway!

festive

The only place you can skate under the stars in Glasgow – George Square’s ice rink – is now open! Only a five minute walk from Buchanan or St Enoch stations, the rink is open until the end of the year and we have a cool treat in store for Subway passengers wishing to perfect their pirouettes – or maybe just let go of the railing.

Bring your Subway Smartcard to the Box Office when booking Tuesday or Wednesday evening skating to save £4 on a 45 minute session. Price includes skate hire. We also have Subway goodie bags to give away to the first 50 customers to take up the offer, so get your skates on and don’t miss out!

The ice rink is open every day, except Christmas. Friendly Ice Monitors are on hand to help, so whether you’re a novice or ready to compete in the next Winter Olympics, there’s someone on hand to help you swish around the cenotaph in confidence.

There’s lots of other magical fun on offer in the Square too including funfair rides – yes the Big Wheel is back! – free family activities in the Christmas Workshop and themed nights on the rink including Throwback Thursdays and an ice Rink Disco.

Subway Smartcard offer is available until 17 December. For other sparkling Christmas savings go to spt.co.uk/festive. Glasgow ice rink timetable is here.
