Getting out and about this Christmas is easy with MyBus

Planning some festive fun but not sure how to get to your lunch, dinner or day out? MyBus can help.

If mobility problems are stopping you using public transport or if there is no transport near where you live, you could benefit from SPT’s bookable MyBus service.

The door to door SPT service will pick up and drop off as close as possible to where you want to go. Journeys are free for anyone using a Scottish Citizen’s National Entitlement Card or Companion Card. Other passengers can travel for the price of a standard bus fare.

The service takes group bookings as well – so clubs and groups of friends looking to go out to eat, drink and be merry can make the journey part of a day out too.

Mrs Norma Kerr, President of Elderslie Village Hall Group and a regular MyBus customer, said:

“I have already made my booking for the Campbell Old Age Pensioners Club Christmas Dinner in December. It will be a busy bus – everyone wanted to get on it this year!

“Some people used to get taxis but being able to book MyBus is much better. Everyone gets picked up and dropped off at their door and it is nice being able to travel all together.

“The MyBus team are brilliant. You get a convenient, comfortable journey and it is always service with a smile!”

During this festive period, SPT is taking the opportunity to remind customers about the service and to make them aware that it is not just regular passengers who can make a MyBus booking

“The run up to Christmas is always a busy time but we would like to see even more people benefitting from this service. SPT is committed to ensuring that everyone is able to get out of their homes and participate in social activities and we want to make sure that no one in the Strathclyde area turns down an invite because they’re not sure how they can get there.

“As Christmas can be busy, we would encourage anyone interested in using MyBus to call and register their details as soon as possible. That way, when we are taking bookings for the festive period, we have all the details we need at hand to do this as quickly as possible and get you where you want to go as easily as possible.”
