More than 22,000 of you are now using Smartcards – benefiting from more flexibility, convenience and the best prices for Subway travel. However, SPT want all our customers – be it daily Subway users or less frequent travellers – to enjoy the advantages of Smart travel.
SPT Subway staff are going the extra mile to help our customers sign up for own FREE cards! Pop-up registration tables have been making an appearance at stations around the system.
Subway Service Delivery Officer, Christine Blair, has so far set up shop at Govan, Buchanan Street and Hillhead stations and has helped more than 200 Smart customers register.
Christine has been on hand to give passengers all the help they need to get registered and answer any queries that they might have about Smartcards.
“I really love dealing with the public and so far everyone has been really interested to find out more about Smartcard and how they can get one themselves.
“Being able to explain things face to face to someone – like how the daily cap works and the need to validate your card after you’ve topped up, for example – can be more straightforward for a lot of people.
“The only part people don’t seem to like is having their photo taken but I guess that’s just human nature!”
Passengers were also encouraged to pick up some stylish Subway merchandise including a Smartcard ticket wallet.
