Lucky Connor McMenemy is all smiles – after being given a ticket to ride in the SPT ZoneCard prize draw.
The 17-year-old apprentice HR administrator won a year’s ZoneCard after completing a week-long travel diary, which was then randomly selected for the free prize.
And Connor, from King’s Park, is in no doubt as to what he’ll spend the £668 he will save on travelling to Sky Park over the year – with plans for a trip to sunny Spain.
Winning a year’s free travel is absolutely brilliant, and means I’ll be able to save the money I would have spent on travelling to work for a holiday in Spain.”

“When I first got the e-mail telling me I’d won, I couldn’t believe it. I had to get one of my co-workers to re-read it for me to make sure I wasn’t imagining it.
“Winning a year’s free travel is absolutely brilliant, and means I’ll be able to save the money I would have spent on travelling to work for a holiday in Spain. It’s something I’m really looking forward to, and I’d encourage others to fill in the travel diary for their chance to win.”
Connor was presented with his prize by ZoneCard Forum member Sandra Whitelaw of Whitelaw’s Coaches.
“Congratulations to Connor for his fantastic win. It’s great that this will help him save towards a holiday in the sun.”
SPT Agency Services Manager, Garry McCabe, added:
“The ZoneCard represents real value for money and ease of travel for all customers, as it can be transferred from operator to operator on different modes of travel. With this flexibility and a free ticket, Connor is sure to have an easy ride to work for the next year, giving him more time to plan his holiday.”
The travel diary survey takes place twice a year. To participate, customers must purchase or renew a ZoneCard ticket during the survey week.
ZoneCard is an operator owned, SPT administered, multi-modal ticket offering unlimited travel throughout Strathclyde by bus, rail, subway or ferry.
