New free bus service for Renfrewshire

Strathclyde Partnership for Transport (SPT) has agreed to fund a free pilot bus service which will provide better access to local sports facilities to people living in Bishopton and Erskine.

The new evening service will start on Monday 16 January following concerns from the Local Area Committee that residents in Bishopton were experiencing difficulty in reaching Erskine Community Sports Centre as well as Park Mains School.

The CB3 weekday service will be operated by Community Transport Glasgow (CTG) in the evenings, from 7.30pm until 10.30pm, for 12 months.

This new bus service is another excellent example of the work SPT does in supporting the community transport sector and local people.

Bill Perrie, SPT member for Renfrewshire Council
